“The Woman in White”: Private Screening & Conversation
Women Champions for Change (WCC) co-hosted an inspiring evening with WCC member Anne Baer, former diplomat and Tamar Golan’s protégée: a private screening of The Woman in White, an award-winning documentary by Emmanuelle Mayer. The evening was held in partnership with WIZO Worldwide and hosted at the beautiful home of the Heseg Foundation in Tel Aviv.
The film introduced WCC members, partners and friends to the extraordinary and largely untold story of Tamar Golan, a journalist and diplomat who worked behind the scenes to build relationships across borders. Following the screening, WCC‘s Maryam Younnes led a conversation with director Emmanuelle Mayer about Tamar’s remarkable life and the lessons her approach to diplomacy holds for us today. The evening also included reflections from Anne Baer and Anat Vidor, President of WIZO Worldwide.
For the WCC community, Tamar’s story felt particularly resonant: her belief in relationships, dialogue and human connection reflects the philosophy at the heart of what WCC calls alternative diplomacy. Her legacy reminds us that meaningful change is rarely achieved by grand gestures alone. More often, it begins with the courage to listen, reach across divides and invest in one another. If you missed the screening, we highly recommend watching the film. You can learn more about the “The Woman in White” Impact Campaign here
